  This work captures a dramatic moment on the edge of justice and guilt. An angel with massive wings and a bloodied spear stands over a fallen man, whose hand points upward in a final gesture. Is the angel an executioner of divine justice, or has he just been caught at the scene of a crime? Does the man point to his killer, or is he pleading for mercy?
