  Caesar emerged from the connection of two different periods of my artistic practice. Its story began four years before the painting was completed, when the background itself was created. At the time, I was gradually moving from drawing into painting, using acrylic to explore layers, light, and depth of colour. The canvas remained an open chapter, with its future direction emerging only years later.

Four years later, the figure of Caesar entered this space. Ancient iconography, the physical strength of the figure, and golden elements draw attention towards themes of power, authority, and an awareness of status. Light emerging from the dark space connects the original painted surface with the figure that was created years later.

Time therefore became an integral part of the work itself. A single canvas carries both the beginning of my exploration of acrylic and a later period in which my artistic language had taken on a more established form. The original experiment ultimately found its purpose through a work that, at the time of its beginning, was still waiting to emerge.

  Caesar vznikl spojením dvou různých období mé tvorby. Jeho příběh začal čtyři roky před dokončením obrazu, kdy vzniklo samotné pozadí. V té době jsem postupně přecházel od kresby k malbě a prostřednictvím akrylu objevoval práci s vrstvami, světlem a barevnou hloubkou. Plátno tehdy zůstalo otevřenou kapitolou, jejíž další směr přišel až s odstupem času.

O čtyři roky později do tohoto prostoru vstoupila postava Caesara. Antická ikonografie, fyzická síla figury a zlaté prvky soustřeďují pozornost k tématu moci, autority a vědomí vlastního postavení. Světlo vystupující z temného prostoru zároveň propojuje původní malířskou vrstvu s nově vznikající postavou.

Čas se tak stal přirozenou součástí samotného díla. Jedno plátno v sobě uchovává počátek mé práce s akrylem i období, kdy už měl můj malířský jazyk pevnější podobu. Původní experiment získal svůj význam až prostřednictvím díla, které tehdy ještě čekalo na svůj vznik.
